After over three decades running her graphic design business, Joanne has traded designing for clients such as Apple Computer, Maryland Public Television, Women Work!, the US Government and the National Concrete Masonry Association, among others, to devote herself full-time to her original love, creating visual art. Utilizing mixed-media, hand-painted papers, monoprints, acrylic and watercolor paints and found objects, Joanne crafts her paintings and collages with both care and abandon! Joanne’s art and life are featured in the Spring 2025 edition of arts and culture magazine, Upstart Annapolis. Joanne will be exhibiting her work at several shows in 2025, including at Maryland Hall in Annapolis as part of Community 25, Annapolis Arts Week and Anne Arundel County Arts Month in June.

For many years, Joanne offered voice lessons in Columbia, Brooklyn Park and Annapolis, Maryland. Joanne utilized her background in yoga and performance to create personalized singing techniques designed to explore and strengthen each singer's natural voice. Joanne also assisted students in audition and performance techniques, rehearsal skills, toning exercises for the health of the vocal folds and trouble-shooting singing challenges. Though she is not teaching at this time, and she’s usually up to her elbows in paint and glue these days, never say never….
